I believe in decay. I embrace the lost & discarded & the patina
time secretes. This is what I am and do as artist.

My art is a multi-layered, multi-faceted interfacing with the world I see, hear, feel and experience holistically – though also as fragments, fractures, fissures, certainties as well as ambiguities.
An artist is a door opener, a window opener, a bridge builder and creator of presentations. The amalgam of expression and impression informs all art and artists.
When I ask myself the question ‘why are you an artist?’ – there is no answer. I might just as well ask myself ‘why were you born?’ (a question always in the passive voice) – and there is no answer I have for that question either.
Somewhere in my childhood – before I entered double-digits – I wanted to become an artist. Now I am in my sixties – I am that which I wished to become.
That wish was a journey, and the journey is the destination.
